I am excited to share with you my experiences in the classroom as I work
not only to teach my students, but also to learn and grow as an educator.
Like many, I work hard to balance my roles of teacher, wife and mom.

This means late nights with my laptop, creating resources and of course searching Pinterest!
Besides my family my loves are the beach, country music and chocolate!
So how did it all start?
My teaching career began with a year in third grade as a long term substitute.
From there I went into teaching English as Second Language for the next 5 years.
Those years teaching ESL hold some of my most cherished teaching memories.
I created bonds with my students and their families that I will forever hold dear
to my heart.
The year my daughter was born I felt the need for a change. I was given the
opportunity to teach second grade. New child, new position, I am not sure how
I survived that first year but I have been teaching second grade ever since
and haven't looked back.
I have taught my entire career so far in the same building. It is a place that challenges me daily and a place that I call home. Through my years, I have
learned that nothing is more important than the heart I bring into my
classroom everyday...my teacher heart.
I hope you enjoy my posts and possibly get a few ideas.
Thanks for checking out my blog!
